About Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is one of Indias oldest and most prestigious technical institutions, with origins dating back to 1847 when it was established as Thomason College of Civil Engineering. It was later converted into an IIT in 2001, further strengthening its reputation in technical education and research.
Situated in Roorkee, the IIT Roorkee campus spans over 350 acres and combines historic architecture with modern facilities. The institute is officially designated as an Institute of National Importance.

MODE OF ADMISSION
Candidates must qualify the JEE (Main) exam and then appear for the JEE (Advanced) exam.
Candidates must secure at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class XII OR be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in their respective Class XII board examination. For more details, refer to the JEE Advanced Performance Criteria in Class XII.
Admissions are based on the rank obtained in JEE (Advanced) through JoSAA Counselling.
